Born in Mexico and raised in California, Ana Teresa Fernández has had solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, film festival appearances and public projects throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa and Latin America.

She is the recipient of multiple awards and acknowledgements and has featured prominently in the press and various publications. She has numerous permanent collections and residences as well as lecturing and teaching extensively.
